The General Department of Anti-Narcotics, representing Dubai Police General Command, thwarted a plot by an Asian criminal gang. The gang was run by an individual from outside the country who used a villa as a headquarters to peddle their drugs in the community. Two gang members were arrested and 40 kilograms of ketamine, crystal meth, marijuana, hashish oil and other chemicals and liquids were seized.
Brigadier Khaled Bin Muwaiza, Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics at Dubai Police, confirmed that the 'Villa' operation formed part of their ongoing efforts to combat drug dealers, peddlers and smugglers who seek to distribute drugs to young people. He explained that the operation had been successful thanks to a comprehensive security plan that had tracked the movements of the two suspects peddling drugs from within the villa.

Arrest of the first suspect
Brigadier Khaled Bin Muwaiza explained in detail that the General Department of Anti-Narcotics had received information indicating the presence of a criminal gang trafficking drugs from within a villa. After verifying this information, a task force was formed to conduct extensive searches and investigations, as well as field surveillance. The movements of one of the gang members were monitored during the investigation, as were the concealment and deception methods employed, he added.
The anti-narcotics team had lured and arrested the gang member who then confessed to his accomplice's involvement in the drug trafficking operation, Brigadier Khaled Bin Muwaiza added.
The second suspect was arrested in the act.
He added, "We set up a well-planned ambush for the other member and arrested him while he was packing drugs. He confessed that they were working with the gang leader, who is based overseas, to traffic drugs and harm society."
Brigadier Khaled explained that the defendants' arrest and the thwarting of the gang's plot demonstrate the advanced working methods employed by the Dubai Police, including the use of artificial intelligence technologies and the deployment of highly qualified and specialised human resources capable of detecting and combatting all forms of crime.
He emphasised that the Dubai Police take a firm stance against anyone who threatens the security of society and take decisive action against criminals and drug dealers, even if they are based outside the country.
The Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics urged the public to report any suspicious activities, behaviours or messages received by contacting the 901 call centre or via the 'Police Eye' service on the Dubai Police smart app.
