Officers from Al Qusais Police Station surprised a Dubai secondary school student by publicly recognising his honesty in front of his classmates.
The student had found a wallet containing cash and a cheque for Dhs200,000, and acted swiftly to return it to its owner.
In the presence of Lieutenant Colonel Nasser Abdulaziz Al Khaja, Head of the Administrative Affairs Section, and Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Al Hashemi, Deputy Director of Al Qusais Police Station, the student, Essa Abbas Muhammad Abdullah, was presented with a recognition award.
The award recognised the student’s integrity and the positive example he has set for his peers.
Lieutenant Colonel Al Hashemi said that this recognition forms part of the 'We Reach You to Thank You' initiative, which honours community members and partners within their own environments and among their colleagues.
He praised the student for his prompt communication with the police and his exemplary conduct, which ensured that the wallet and funds were safely returned. He encouraged the public to follow the student's example of honesty and civic responsibility.
The student expressed his gratitude to the Dubai Police, represented by the Al Qusais Police Station. He said that this recognition was a source of pride and a memorable moment to share with his classmates.
