Dense fog blankets parts of UAE for nine hours

Dense fog blanketed various parts of the UAE for about nine hours from 11:00 pm on Sunday to 8:00 am on Monday.

The fog started to form over Abu Al Abyadh Island in Abu Dhabi, Al Ruwais, Treif and Al Guwaifat in Al Dhafra Region, Al Ra’afa in Umm Al Quwain and Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah.

Tuesday’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy at times with a rise in temperature, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds will blow, turning to active at times at 10 to 25 and up to 35 km/h, while the sea will have regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, the NCM said.

Wednesday’s weather is expected to be clear in general to partly cloudy at times, it added. Light to moderate southeasterly to northwesterly winds will blow, turning to active and sand-stirring at times during the day at 10 to 25 and up to 35 km/h, while the sea will have regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, it said.

The weather on Thursday and Friday will be clear in general and partly cloudy in the east in the afternoon, it added.
