Emirates Islamic, one of the leading Islamic financial institutions in the UAE, is observing the Holy Month of Ramadan with several charitable, humanitarian and community initiatives, in keeping with the spirit of faith and generosity during the blessed period, and the Year of Tolerance, as announced by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE.

The Emirates Islamic Charity Fund is working with various charitable and humanitarian organisations to carry out activities across the UAE, in line with the bank’s mission to support the community it serves during the holy month.

Emirates Islamic’s Charity Fund, together with Sharjah Charity International, distributed 236 Meer Ramadan (essential foodstuff and commodities regularly needed during the Holy Month of Ramadan) to families in need in Sharjah.

In collaboration with Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, Emirates Islamic Charity Fund distributed 11,300 Iftar meals at various tents across the UAE. Emirates Islamic also collaborated with the foundation to distribute Zakat of Dhs500,000 to families in need and people with limited income.

Spirit of Giving in Ramadan by du: To embrace the spirit of generosity this Ramadan, du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), is inviting communities across the nation to come together and join the telco’s annual volunteer-based Mawaed Al Rahman initiative.

In line with Year of Tolerance virtues, this edition of Mawaed Al Rahman will bring people from all over the UAE together to pack and distribute thousands of basic food items for underprivileged families across the country.

19 fridges across emirate with free food: Better Life, the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group distributor of global kitchen appliances, has joined hands with communities throughout Dubai in a Ramadan ‘Better Deeds’ initiative to provide Iftar until Suhoor refreshments for construction and security personnel.

Better Life has donated 19 refrigerators for the initiative, which is aimed at encouraging the spirit of sharing during the Holy Month. Volunteers from residential communities, property developers, business owners and schools will fill and refresh the refrigerators with water, laban, juices and snacks for maintenance personnel, construction workers and security personnel in their own areas.
