185,000 donors raise Dhs100 million in 10 days to secure food parcels in 30 countries. Dhs11 million raised through the website and SMS and Dhs40 million received in bank transfers
It is heartening that overwhelming donations secured 14 million meals for families and individuals affected by the coronavirus, COVID-19, pandemic in the UAE as the ‘10 million meals’ campaign finished its second week.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), in collaboration with Burj Khalifa, launched the World’s Tallest Donation Box to illuminate the iconic skyscraper’s 1.2 million lights in an act of solidarity that will raise donations to provide meals for hard-hit communities by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic across the country.
The Department of Economic Development in Ajman, in cooperation with Beit Al Khair Society, announced the participation in the “10 Million Meals” campaign, an initiative by Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Initiatives Foundation, which is the largest national community campaign of its kind to provide meals and food parcels and rations to individuals who are in need and affected by the current health crisis, through distributing about 230,000 meals at an average of 9,000 meals daily in various regions of the Emirate during the Holy Month of Ramadan, and the distribution of 1,780 food baskets to affected families.
The humanitarian initiative, launched by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) in collaboration with Burj Khalifa, secured 1.2 million meals for the ’10 million meals’ campaign to provide food support for low-income families and individuals throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
The UAE leadership has been taking all necessary actions to stem the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of the community and wellbeing of the UAE citizens and residents.
The launching of the World’s Tallest donation Box by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, MBRGI, in collaboration with Burj Khalifa, is a noble and kind gesture that truly expresses solidarity with victims and helps raise donations to provide meals for communities hard-hit by the coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic across the country.
