His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has announced a revision to the bereavement leave policy for government workers and university staff in Sharjah.
Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, announced the details on the "Direct Line" broadcast.
Under the new policy, employees receive five days of leave for a death occurring within the country and eight days if the death happens abroad.
This leave covers the employee's first- and second-degree relatives, including grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, siblings, spouse, children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
