In this fast-paced world that we live in, it is easy to get swept up and lost in the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. In turn this can result in us experiencing burnout. This week we are taking a look at how to recognise the symptoms of burnout and what to do to prevent it from happening to you.
Burnout is defined as a stress-induced state of extreme mental, physical and emotional exhaustion. Burnout is actually really common and can happen to anyone but we can all experience it in different ways. The first and most prevalent symptom is usually extreme tiredness. The body gets depleted and this can affect our immunity resulting in more colds and viruses.
There are many ways to avoid ending up in a state of burnout. One of the best ways is to make sure you are eating nutritious food often. Another way is to ensure that you are getting an adequate amount of sleep every night. We have to take time to switch off mentally every day as well. This should mean no screens and a peaceful environment.
