The nominations for the biggest award show in the music industry have finally been announced for this year. This week we take a look at the 2024 Grammy Awards nominations.

The main and biggest talking point of the nominations has got to be the fact that females have dominated across the board this year. Ladies are nominated in all the major categories and genres including for album, record and song of the year.

Leading the nominations is the R&B singer SZA with a total of nine nods. Her album “SOS” is nominated for album of the year and her hit single “Kill Bill,” from the same album, is up for song of the year, record of the year and best R&B performance. SZA has previously won a Grammy Award, as well as impressively being nominated for a Golden Globe and an Academy Award.

Coming in behind SZA with seven nominations each are indie folk singer Phoebe Bridgers, with her band Boygenius, and R&B singer-songwriter Victoria Monét. Some of the other women with multiple nominations are Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Miley Cyrus. It will be very interesting to see who wins in February when the Grammys take place in Los Angeles.
