A moving tale

Sika Khan with his brother Mohammed Siddique.

Sika Khan and his brother Mohammed Siddique.

Indian Sika Khan and his Pakistani brother Mohammed Siddique now will be able to meet each other finally. They can spend days and nights together in Pakistan and they can wipe tears off each other’s eyes. It was unbelievable. I can’t imagine the intensity of their emotions. This story has moved me and almost everyone. The two brothers, separated in 1947, were recently reunited after 74 years at the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor (“Indian citizen gets Pakistani visa to meet brother who was separated from him in 1947,” Jan.29, Gulf Today online edition.)

The Pakistan High Commission in India has issued a visa to an Indian senior citizen, allowing him to meet his brother and other family members in Pakistan, from whom he was separated 74 years ago due to Partition in 1947, Dawn reported.

I really appreciate the Pakistani government for issuing a visa to Sika who wants to see his brother and other family members after 74 years of separation.  I really appreciate Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan for having a soft stand on such issues. This story looks like a typical Bollywood film’s plot. The world has recently witnessed a Bollywood film “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” which had moved people of India and Pakistan to tears. I hope the time will come when India and Pakistan would be able to open their borders for everyone. I request both the governments to allow common people to interact and enjoy each other’s company.
