Al Qasimia University (AQU) organised the third strategic performance forum for the academic year 2024/2025 under the theme “Effective Evaluation and Sustainable Planning,” held on Sunday at the conference hall in Aljada, Sharjah.
The event was attended by Prof. Dr Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of Al Qasimia University (AQU), advisory council members, vice presidents, deans of colleges, directors of centres and departments, and members of the academic and administrative staff.
This forum aims to review the strategic performance indicators for the academic year 2024-2025, evaluate the current strategic plan of the university for 2020-2025, and formulate the future vision for the new strategic plan for 2025-2030.
This preparation is in anticipation of its launch and approval by the Board of Trustees of Al Qasimia University, enhancing the university’s competitiveness and leadership in higher education, scientific research, and community service.
In his opening speech, Dr Awad Al Khalaf affirmed that Al Qasimia University, thanks to the unwavering support of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the diligent follow-up by Jamal Salem Al Tarifi, President of the University, is moving steadily towards the future.
He stated that the university is driven by a visionary approach that elevates the values of excellence in academic and administrative performance, sustainability, and innovation.
He added that the forum reflects the university’s institutional commitment to evaluating performance effectively and objectively to ensure sound planning for its new strategic plan.
Al Khalaf discussed the current state of strategic performance at the university, highlighting the achievement of targeted performance indicators in the monitoring and evaluation phases of the university’s strategic goals.
He noted the accomplishments in education, scientific research, community service, and academic accreditation through building sustainable partnerships with various entities by signing memoranda of understanding with several national and international institutions, offering training and professional development programs, employing national talents, and attracting students from different countries around the world.
