The ICP has taken all necessary steps to ensure the continuity of operations at UAE airports, liaising with all operational entities to address the repercussions of regional and political developments that have led to the closure of some countries’ airspace.
This action is expected to ensure the safety and efficient flow of passenger traffic without compromising the quality of services provided.
The ICP indicated that it had promptly initiated its authorised emergency business continuity plan following the onset of the events, with the objective of ensuring operational flexibility and mitigating potential repercussions on travel in view of the decisions taken by certain nations to close their airspace to air traffic.
The plan encompassed operational and regulatory procedures that were meticulously implemented in collaboration with strategic partners.
The ICP has observed that field teams at the country’s airports are supported on a 24-hour basis with qualified human resources and advanced operational capabilities, thereby ensuring the highest levels of preparedness and immediate response to all developments.
Furthermore, it is imperative to note that the organisation coordinates with all relevant operational entities with a view to addressing the needs of stranded travellers at airports and ensuring that they receive the necessary support in terms of temporary accommodation, logistical services, and accurate information.
The ICP has also organised the passenger entry process at the country’s airports according to the operational situation with direct guidance to passengers through support teams regarding flight rescheduling. This is being done in immediate coordination with the country’s airlines.
It praised the cooperation of travellers and their understanding of the exceptional circumstances facing the region.
The ICP further reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all travellers, no matter the circumstances, and to providing them with support based on authentic Emirati values, the standards of the proactive services system, and crisis and emergency management plans.
