Man charged with breaking into a villa under the influence of alcohol in Dubai

Dubai Misdemeanour and Violations Court fined an Asian national Dhs6,000 for trespassing into a villa belonging to a European woman and consuming alcohol in unauthorised places.

The incident dates back to September 2024 when a European woman filed a report stating that she had seen, via surveillance cameras, a man breaking into her villa in Jebel Ali.

The woman explained that she and her husband had left the villa to stay at a hotel, leaving their son with a nanny and the following morning, she checked the surveillance footage on her phone to see the suspect sneaking into the villa through the back door. He also wandered around and attempted to open a window using a tool but fled after failing to do so, she added.

A police man stated in the interrogation that the a team identified the suspect, who lived in a building adjacent to the villa.

Upon arrest, he admitted in interrogation that he was under the effect of alcohol at the time of the incident, claiming that he had entered the wrong villa by mistake, denying any intent to rob it.
