Ras Al Khaimah Police arrest 9 motorists for reckless behaviour during heavy rain

The Traffic and Patrols Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police, in cooperation with the Public Services Department and Mina Al Arab, arrested 9 drivers who showed off with their vehicles in reckless movements in the areas of Mazra’ Al Bariyya and in the Mina Al Arab project. They were punished in accordance with Executive Council Resolution No. 2 of 2024.

Colonel Dr Mohammed Al Bahar, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at RAK Police, said that vehicle drivers showed off during the last weather depression, after a video clip of the reckless movements spread across social media platforms. He added that three 3 other vehicles were also seized in Mina Al Arab.

Al Bahar indicated that an investigation team was formed in coordination with the Department of Public Services and Mina Al Arab Project Management, where the team identified the vehicles participating in the show off and the identities of their drivers, who were fined Dhs2,000 each, with impounding the vehicles for 60 days, and 23 traffic points, in addition to impounding the vehicle for 120 days, and a fine of Dhs10,000 to release them, which is paid after the end of the impoundment period.
