Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court obligated an institution, its work site’s official and the security and safety official to pay compensation of Dhs150,000 to the heirs of a worker, on charges of their failure to provide security and safety means and their breach of professional principles, resulting in the death of the worker after falling from the eighth floor.

The details of the case date back to an earlier time when the heirs of the deceased filed a lawsuit against the three parties in which they requested that they be jointly obligated to pay Dhs200,000, in compensation for all material and moral damages, and a legal interest of 12% from the date of filing the lawsuit until full payment, as well as obligating them to pay the fees and expenses of the lawsuit and the lawyer’s fees.

The court explained that the appellees’ charge was proved based on a criminal verdict which they did not appeal, and therefore it became final.

It also indicated that what the appellees committed resulted in harming the appellants after they lost their breadwinner, and therefore obligated them to pay Dhs150,000, in compensation for all damages.
