The Dubai Police arrested a young man for riding his motorcycle at a dangerously high speed of up to 280 km/h on one wheel, endangering his life and safety of others.
The motorbike was impounded as part of legal action against the feckless rider. This was after a video clip went viral on social media networks, showing the errant driver doing stunts for fun with his motorbike, endangering not only his own life but putting others in jeopardy as well.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of Traffic Department at Dubai Police, said that the motorcyclist had been identified and caught, as he confessed to riding his bike recklessly.
Accordingly, the bike was impounded and legal measures taken against the driver, Al Mazrouei added. He pointed out that in accordance with the provisions of Decree No.30 of 2023 regarding impounding of vehicles, a fine of 'unimpoundment of the bicycle' is Dhs50,000. He also warned motorbike riders against such risky acts, explaining that they will be sorely penalised if they step out of line.
