Dubai Police announced, on Friday, the arrest of a mentally ill Arab visitor, for having committed an outrageous act on the public street in the Dubai Marina area.

The man was reported seen roaming in the JBR area naked.

The mentally disturbed man also attacked a security guard and a food delivery driver. 

Investigations showed that he suffers from severe mental disorders.

Dubai Police will take the necessary measures against him.

In the UAE, any obscene act is a punishable crime.

Article 358 of the UAE Penal Code states that whoever publicly commits obscene act shall be subject to a fine of no less than Dhs1,000 and no more than Dhs50,000.

In case of repetition, the punishment shall be incarceration for no more than three months and fine of no more than Dhs100,000 or one of them. The same punishment shall apply to any person who says or does any act that violate public morals

Whoever does any indecent action towards a female or a boy of less than fifteen years of age, even in private place, shall be subject to the punishment of incarceration for no less than one year.
