A motorist escaped death after a large rock falling from a mountain stopped near near his car in Nizwa, Oman.

Witnesses recount the moment of the survival of the driver from a large rock falling almost on his car due to rain in the state of Nizwa.

The horrific video shows the motorist driving along a rain drenched mountain road while recording in his mobile device.

The driver was able to film the falling rock rolling towards his car and crashed on the barrier on the side of road where water had accumulated from heavy rain.

The Oman meteorologists said that foul weather conditions to prevail in parts of Oman

The Omani Civil Aviation Authority CAA issued alerts, stating that heavy rain is expected to continue in a number of governorates of Oman.

The authority said no flights have been affected so far.

The Oman authorities have urged members of the public to stay away from valleys and mountainous regions.
