Dubai is set to launch remote working system for certain government employees starting March 16. The initiative will allow employees to work from the Public libraries.

Abdulla Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director-General of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department said, “Today we announce the launch of the Work from the Public Library initiative in partnership with the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and in cooperation with the Dubai Digital Authority.”

Al Falasi made the statement at “Remote Forum” taking place at the Dubai Museum of the Future.

Al Falasi clarified that the main aim of the forum is to activate UAE agenda for smooth work system.

Hala Badri, Director-General of Dubai Culture, said on Twitter, “The ‘Work from the Public Libraries’ initiative constitutes a qualitative step that reflects the Authority's keenness to transform "Dubai Public Libraries" into creative platforms that provide various experiences that stimulate raising the level of productivity of Dubai government employees.

The initiative will cover 61 government bodies in Dubai, which will take into account around 67,000 employees.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, the UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, said on Twitter, “From the traditional to the exceptional, and from your place to the world... Through the "Remote" forum, we will discuss digital challenges and opportunities in priority sectors to anticipate a new phase that enables flexible and future methods that consolidate the UAE's leading position in the digital fields.”
