Dubai Municipality launched an awareness campaign ‘My Vehicle’ to educate the public, under the slogan “A clean vehicle is a sustainable city”, intending to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the aesthetics and civilized appearance of the city.

The campaign aims to create awareness; not to leave abandoned vehicles, boats, and equipment in public places.

Any vehicles left abandoned on Dubai's streets are impounded by Dubai Municipality.

Around 1,074 abandoned vehicles have been impounded since the beginning of this year.

The process of impounding abandoned vehicles and equipment is subject to requirements regulated by the provisions of Local Order No. (11) of 2003 and the Executive Regulations on Public Health and Community Safety in the Emirate of Dubai.

Since the beginning of this year, 5,340 short text messages (SMS) have been sent to the owners of abandoned vehicles in Dubai, inside or outside the country, which helped to take required actions regarding their abandoned vehicles.

The "My Vehicle" campaign includes raising awareness about sustainable waste management, enhancing community awareness of preserving knowledge of laws, regulations, and services related to this vital area of interest to all members of society and reducing the behavior of leaving abandoned vehicles, boats and equipment in public places.
