Asian gang breaks into Dubai apartment, gets 1-year jail and Dhs17,000 fine

An Asian gang of 3 men were sentenced to a year in jail, followed by deportation and a Dhs17,000 fine, for assaulting and robbing a female visitor in Dubai.
During last November, the Asian visitor had filed a police report, claiming that a gang of 5 men had suddenly broken into her boyfriend’s apartment and assaulted both of them in an attempt to rob them.
After the brutal assault, the gang managed to steal Dhs15,800 from inside her boyfriend’s wallet.
They also stole the victims’ phones, and a gold bracelet and a ring.
Police carried out intensive investigations to identify the defendants, and three of the gang members were successfully arrested.
They will be prosecuted on robbery and assault charges.
