The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced an Asian worker to 6 years in jail after convicting him of attempting to murder his friend after a verbal altercation, which developed into a hand-to-hand fight during which the worker assaulted the victim with a knife.
The incident took place last January, when a verbal altercation broke out between the suspect and the victim.
A witness said he saw the suspect hiding under the stairs of a building, and after a while he saw the victim heading towards him, then the verbal altercation broke out, then it developed into a hand-to-hand fight, during which the suspect sustained injuries.
The witness added the suspect disappeared after being injured and after having bleeding in the head, and then he was seen heading towards the victim with a knife. A number of people attempted to hold him, but he stabbed the victim with the knife.
The ambulance was rushed to the scene and took the injured to the hospital, while the suspect was handed over to the police patrol.
