VIDEO: Dubai launches world’s largest multicoloured fountain

Nakheel Malls broke the record for the world’s largest fountain, measuring at a whopping 7,327m² in Dubai on Thursday evening with a breathtaking ceremony.

The record-breaking fountain named The Palm Fountain was designed with a few tricks including colour and brightness controls.

The Palm Fountain is Palm Jumeirah’s latest waterfront attraction, broke the Guinness World Records (GWR) at the Pointe in Dubai during its inaugural event for the largest fountain in the world.

Fireworks exploded over The Palm Fountain to welcome the news.

The Palm Fountain which spreads across 1300 sqm of sea water features over 3,000 LED lights.

The attraction is the only multicoloured fountain in Dubai and is a celebration of Dubai’s resurgence and ambition to aim for the sky.

The Palm Fountain will have 20 bespoke shows with five different shows running daily between sunset to midnight (7pm to 12am) while swaying to an array of popular songs including Khaleeji, pop, classic, international and more.

Fountain-Palm-2 The fountain is spread over 14,000 sqft of seawater. 

Each show will last for three minutes and will be performed every 30 minutes.

During the launch event for the massive fountain, visitors of The Pointe were invited to multiple festivities that started at 4pm.

The entertainment included multiple DJs, dance shows and a firework show.

The show saw many attendants, from excited residents to tourists, who witnessed The Palm Fountain break the world record.

The strictest health and safety measures and rules were followed during the show, such as temperature checks.

The Palm Fountain is open to the public year-round and presents multiple shows that see its water jets sway and dance to various popular tunes and classical music.

"GWR is delighted to officially see The Palm Fountain breaking the title of the Largest fountain," Shaddy Gaad, Senior Marketing Manager - MENA at Guinness World Records said.
