Al Etihad Cup and Para-Karate Championship to mark end of season

The UAE Karate Federation has announced that the 2025-2026 season will conclude on Saturday with the staging of two championships: the Al Etihad Cup for Kumite teams and the Para-Karate Championship, featuring broad participation from clubs and sports centers.

The two events reaffirm support for sporting talent and promote the values of challenge, determination, and excellence. The competitions will be held at Sharjah Club’s Al Hazanah branch hall.

During the final day, an awards ceremony will be held to honour the working committees and supporting personalities in appreciation of their efforts and contributions to the success of the sporting season, in a sporting atmosphere that reflects the spirit of cooperation and achievement in karate.

The tournament is witnessing strong participation, with 168 male and female athletes representing nine clubs and sports centers in the Al Etihad Cup for Kumite teams, while 47 male and female athletes representing eight clubs and sports centers are participating in the Para-Karate Championship.

The competitions will begin at 9am amid high-level technical and organizational preparations to ensure the success of the sporting event. Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, Board Member of the UAE Karate Federation and Chairman of the Competitions Committee

For his part, stated that the Para-Karate Championship received strong interest and response from participating clubs and centers, with the number of registered participants reaching 47 athletes.

Nuaimi said: “This season’s championships witnessed great success, with all categories being held without the cancellation of any division throughout the season according to the scheduled plan, alongside an increase in the number of participants across all categories, which is a very positive indicator.”
