The fifth day of the Gold Cup tournament delivered yet another exhilarating showcase of high-calibre polo action at Al Habtoor Polo Club and Resort.
In a fiercely competitive encounter, Ghantoot Polo clashed with Dubai Wolves by Thera Polo, with both teams applying early pressure and exchanging goals in the opening chukker. The Wolves quickly demonstrated their power, establishing a two-goal lead by the second chukker.
Ghantoot responded decisively in the third chukker, shifting the momentum and asserting greater control over the match. Patron Ali Al Merri spearheaded the resurgence, finding the posts and driving his team forward with precision. Dubai Wolves remained resilient, closing the gap in the fourth chukker and igniting speculation of a potential extra-time showdown by the fifth.
Despite a determined late push from Dubai Wolves—reducing the deficit to just one goal in the final chukker—Ghantoot Polo maintained composure and closed out the match with a confident and fully deserved victory.
Earlier, on the fourth day of the tournament, Jehangiri Polo met Habtoor Polo in a highly charged contest. Jehangiri set the pace from the outset, applying relentless pressure and deploying a disciplined defensive structure that challenged Habtoor Polo from the opening whistle.
Habtoor Polo began to find their stride in the second chukker, finally adding to the scoreboard, but Jehangiri remained unyielding. Regaining full momentum through the third and fourth chukkers, Jehangiri extended their lead by tightening their defence and dictating the flow of play. By the fifth chukker, the momentum had firmly tipped in their favour as they surged ahead, establishing a decisive three-goal cushion.
Although Habtoor Polo mounted a spirited final-chukker rally—cutting the advantage to a single goal—Jehangiri Polo held steady under pressure to secure a commanding and well-earned victory.
