The official match schedule for the Gold Cup Dubai Open 2026 was unveiled during the press conference and live draw held at Al Habtoor Polo Resort Hotel.
The event welcomed team representatives and sponsors officially setting the stage for one of the region’s most prestigious polo tournaments.
Taking place from January 30 to February 14, 2026, the Dubai Open will be contested at a 20-goal handicap, bringing together six elite teams competing for the coveted championship title. The tournament promises a world-class display of international talent, tactical mastery, and high-intensity competition.
As the flagship event of the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series (DPGCS), the Gold Cup enjoys significant international standing and is officially recognized by the World Polo Tour (WPT). Classified within the WPT Championship Cup circuit, the tournament offers some of the highest-ranking points on the global polo calendar, further cementing its appeal to top-tier players and teams worldwide.
Operating under the umbrella of the UAE Polo Federation, the DPGCS adheres strictly to the regulations of the Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA). All matches are officiated by certified HPA umpires, ensuring the highest standards of fairness and professionalism. Beyond competition, the Gold Cup continues to represent sporting excellence, heritage, and Dubai’s growing influence on the international polo stage.

The Gold Cup final will take place on February 14, 2026 at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club. The tournament will feature six participating teams.
The Dubai Wolves Polo Team, patroned by Habtoor Al Habtoor, features a strong lineup comprising Habtoor Al Habtoor, Cesar Crespo, Felix Esain, and Santiago Laborde bringing together a balanced mix of leadership and international experience.
The Habtoor Polo Team, under the patronage of Mohammed Al Habtoor, fields Mohammed Al Habtoor alongside a high-calibre international trio of Carlos Maria Ulloa, Bautista Bayugar, and Marcos Solari, making the team one of the most competitively rated sides in the tournament.
Representing one of the UAE’s most established polo institutions, the Ghantoot Polo Team is patroned by Ali Al Merri and includes Pablo Llorente, Marcos Araya, and Juan Jauretche, a formidable combination of speed, strategy, and experience.
The Jehangiri Polo Team, led by patron Muhammad Jehangiri, boasts an exceptional international lineup featuring Gonzalo Pieres Jr., Antonio Heguy, and Dante Castagnola, adding world-class pedigree and competitive edge to the tournament.
The UAE Polo Team is patroned by Her Highness Sheikha Maitha Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and features Salvador Jauretche, Lucas Monteverde Jr., and Rosendo Torreguitar, reflecting a strong blend of national representation and elite international talent.
Completing the lineup is the Bangash Polo Team, patroned by Haider Bangash, with Federico von Potobsky (5), Tomas Llorente Jr. (7), and Alfredo Cappella (8), forming a competitive and well-balanced side.
