Habtoor Polo team beat UAE to post second straight win at IFZA Silver Cup

Habtoor Polo team beat UAE on day three of the IFZA Silver Cup 2021 to register their second consecutive victory of the tournament at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club on Monday.

Both teams struggled to score a goal during the first chukker and it was Facundo Sola who delivered the opening goal for Habtoor Polo team.

Mohammed Al Habtoor, the team's patron, gave the team a further advantage as he scored another goal during the second chukker. Goal shy until past halftime, UAE Polo's demonstrated offence throughout the game had the team score their first goal at the penultimate chukker courtesy of Tomas Panelo.

UAE Polo team had their work cut out for them as Habtoor Polo carried with them a 3.5 goal advantage. Guillermo Willington added two goals for the team but the gap in scores plus the 30-yard penalty shot from Facu were enough to seal the win at 7 goals to 3.5.

In the next round of qualifying matches, Zedan Polo will face IFZA-Mahra Polo while Dubai Wolves by Cafu square off against Bangash.

The 11th edition of the Silver Cup is part of the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series being held under the patronage of Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
