The UAE's seventh aid was dispatched as part of the UAE's continuous humanitarian efforts to assist the people of Afghanistan in these difficult times, and to address the shortage of medicine and food, impacting citizens there, especially women, children and elderly people.
Reaffirming its longstanding commitment to the Palestinian people, the UAE noted that it has contributed more than $883mn from 2013 to 2021 to fund vital sectors and support development efforts in Palestinian territories.
The UAE made the announcement during a United Nations Security Council open debate titled “Maintenance of international peace and security: Advancing public-private humanitarian partnership”.
Reem Bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, noted that the UAE is conducting an ongoing review of the humanitarian situation in Yemen in coordination with international organisations, in particular monitoring indicators of health, food security, and malnutrition.

The UAE has sent three planes carrying a 1,000 sqm field hospital, which includes 75 beds and two operating rooms equipped with the latest medical supplies and devices, to offer relief to earthquake victims in Afghanistan.
"The scale of devastation is massive and requires an immense humanitarian response for 33m people. For this I appeal to my fellow Pakistanis, Pakistan expatriates and the international community to help Pakistan in this hour of need,” minister said.
Guterres said he hoped his visit would galvanise international help, noting Pakistan had always shown generosity towards others, hosting millions of refugees for decades from neighbouring Afghanistan at enormous cost.
