The Al Fursan team will light up the UAE's skies over a number of hospitals for three days from Sunday in an initiative arranged by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed.
The guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was instrumental in ensuring a rapid response to the outbreak and developing an effective counter-pandemic approach, said Dr Amer Sharif.
The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has launched several projects and initiatives to elevate awareness about smoking risks and to encourage smokers to quit.
"It has been noticed that the 20 to 40 age group is the most affected due to the wrong perception that their youth will protect them for being infected," Dr Farida Al Hosani said.
Sheikh Mohammed expressed his appreciation for the efforts of medical, nursing and administrative staff across the UAE, which have been key to containing the spread of COVID-19 and providing the highest level of healthcare to patients.
The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced on Saturday that it conducted 148,245 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.
