The Dubai Misdemeanours Court will pronounce its verdict in the case of Emirati girl, Rawda Al Muaini, who fell victim to medical negligence, on Mar.18.
In regard to Rawdha Almaeeni’s case, a final verdict was issued on Wednesday, March 18, by the Dubai Courts, stating that doctors involved are charged with malpractice against the young Emirati woman, who was a victim of a botched nose surgery and negligence.
The Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal upheld a ruling by the Court of First Instance obligating a hospital and a doctor to pay Dhs50,000 to a patient with kidney stones in moral compensation for the harm he sustained as a result of a medical error.
The case dated back to a lawsuit that the patient filed against a hospital and a doctor in which she requested the court to obligate them to pay Dhs7m plus delayed interest at 12%.
The Abu Dhabi Family and Civil and Administrative Cases Court obligated an insurance company, a doctor and a one-day surgery centre to pay a patient Dhs250,000 in compensation for the physical and moral damages he sustained due to a medical error during a hernia surgery at the centre.
