The Department on Thursday issued an administrative decision regarding the temporary ban of serving “shisha”, calling on owners of establishments operating in the emirate to immediately stop this service until further notice.
The competent authorities banned serving shisha of all kinds in all hotels, tourist establishments, cafes and restaurants.
In order to protect the health and safety of citizens, especially given the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath, smoking of all forms (cigarettes, electronic cigarettes and shisha) is banned in closed public places," the health ministry said.
The decision will be followed by highest international preventive measures. Regular inspections will be conducted to ensure the compliance.
Six firefighting stations, consisting of 88 firefighters, officers and 22 vehicles, participated in extinguishing fire at the tower. The team set up their base on the tenth floor after the transfer of all equipment.
