The inauguration of the lane follows the completion of a trial period of the lane which contributes to improving the bus journey time by as much as 24 per cent and delivering better services to public transport riders.

According to Brigadier Dr Ali Rashid Bin Awash, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department at Fujairah Police, the accident took place at the end of Yabsa Bypass Road connecting Sheikh Maktoum Street and Fujairah Port Street on Saturday.
A stalled vehicle is slowing traffic on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road in front of Mirdif City Centre heading to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police General HQ announced that the ban on the movement of trucks with a tare weight more than 2.5 tonnes would revert to the normal status, starting on Saturday (July 4).
The ban applies to Al Ittihad and the Sheikh Zayed Roads and the sector connecting them from the Sheikh Rashid Street as well as Downtown Deira/Bur Dubai from 06:00am to 10:00pm.
The accident happened when a 14-passenger minibus veered off and crashed into the cement barrier on the right side of the road before it caught fire.
"The project serves Al Quoz 2, between Al Khail Road and Meydan Road. It involves the construction of a network of main roads extending 16km along with associated infrastructure works," said Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer.
The crash occurred before the Dubai Mall Bridge that heads towards the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
