The Emirates Mars Mission (EMM), the first interplanetary exploration undertaken by an Arab nation, announced the scheduled launch of its Mars Hope Probe in a 495,000,000km journey to reach and orbit the Red Planet.
"We are days away from the UAE Hope probe's highly-anticipated launch to Mars that will inspire the young generation to make the impossible, possible," said Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid while addressing the 21-member Emirati Hope Probe team.
The Hope Probe will make a 7-month-long journey to the red planet covering 493,500,000km, according to Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC).
Emirates Mars Mission, Hope Probe, is the UAE’s contribution to the entire world, a top United Nations official told.
His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, congratulated the UAE’s leadership and people on today’s successful launch of the Hope Probe.
"Being the first Arab state to embark on Mars mission demonstrates the UAE’s significant progress in space technology. On behalf of the Chinese Government, I would like to warmly congratulate the UAE on the successful launch of the Hope Mars Orbiter, and wish the Hope Mars Mission a complete success," said Ni Jian, the Chinese Ambassador to the UAE.
