Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) visited the Mohammed Bin Rashid Medical Research Institute at Al Jalila Foundation, which is one of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. Dr Raja Easa Al Gurg, Chairperson of the Board of Directors and Member of the Board of Trustees of Al Jalila Foundation, welcomed Al Tayer.
Global medical research as bolstered by the UAE has been further boosted with the launching of an initiative which has so far received almost Dhs8 million from 26 donors and whereby individuals from other parts of the world as well may donate.
The Al Jalila Foundation has helped a 3-year-old Syrian boy Youssef Mohammed, who was suffering from a rare cancer called retinoblastoma in his right eye, to get a prosthetic eye.
