Sharjah Charity's initiatives bring smiles on the faces of more than 10,000 beneficiaries in Egypt

Sharjah Charity International carried out a package of humanitarian, health, and productive initiatives in Egypt, which included performing 34 catheterisation and open-heart surgeries within the "Little Hearts" campaign, and distributing 100 packages of productive family projects, in addition to distributing 1,000 food baskets and school bags to 10,190 beneficiaries, as well as allocating 40 Umrah trips for mothers of orphans as part of the field visit carried out by the association to follow up on its projects, inspect existing initiatives, and launch new projects.

Dr Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi, member of the association's board of directors, said that the visit comes within the association's plan for field visits aimed at following up on implemented projects and assessing the needs of beneficiaries, in addition to launching new initiatives and ensuring the sustainability of projects implemented during previous periods, noting that the delegation was keen during its tour to meet with a number of the association's sponsored individuals, look into their conditions, and follow up on the impact of the initiatives provided to them.

Al Kaabi explained that within the "Little Hearts" campaign, the medical team accompanying the campaign, headed by Dr Ahmed Al Kamali, consultant at the pediatrics and maternity department at Al Qasimi Hospital in the UAE, performed 34 catheterisation and open-heart surgeries for children at Nile of Hope Hospital in Alexandria, Egypt.

He added that the association distributed 100 sewing machines to mothers working in embroidery, along with 100 ovens for producing and selling baked goods, with the aim of providing production tools which help female beneficiaries find a source of income that assists them in meeting their families' needs.

Al Kaabi also added that 1,000 food baskets were distributed to beneficiary families, and 10,190 school bags to sponsored individuals at the beginning of the school year to support their families in providing educational supplies.

The association also intends to implement the "Ideal Mothers Umrah" initiative, from which 40 mothers of orphans will benefit, Al Kaabi added.

The association's delegation was headed by Dr Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi, member of the board of directors, and included Ali Mohammed Al Rashidi, head of the foreign projects and aid sector at the association.
