More than 100 inmates escaped from an Indonesian jail on Sumatra island on Saturday, police said, in the latest breakout to hit the country’s creaking prison system.
The two cousins, Davad Zukanovic, 40, and Lil Ahmetovic, 46, broke out of Rebibbia prison overnight on June 2 by scaling a wall using a water hose left in a courtyard. But before they escaped, they left a note in their cell explaining they had personal reasons for needing to flee, said the Repubblica daily.
Fresh out of prison and in-home confinement, rapper Tekashi69 destroyed the Instagram live viewership record, as two million users watched him sound off, diss the haters and promote a new song.
"The escapees include Lebanese, Syrians and Palestinians, among other foreigners," a judicial told AFP. A security source confirmed the escape method, saying the prisoners were likely aided by someone on the outside.
It wasn't clear whether the escapade succeeded in winning back the heart of the young woman, also 18, who had broken up with him by phone. The man is being investigated for trespassing and unauthorised contact with prisoners.
Justice Minister Masako Mori said on Sunday she has ordered an investigation after Ghosn issued a statement saying he was in Lebanon.
The prisoner, Casey White -- the two are not related -- has had numerous run-ins with the law, and has been sentenced to 75 years imprisonment for kidnapping, burglary and attempted murder, among other crimes.
Inmates with facial injuries were taken by truck and ambulance to medical facilities while family members of those incarcerated gathered at the prison looking for information, AFP reporters at the scene said.
This Brazilian detainee managed to escape, but not from a cell, rather from a moving police car, without the guards noticing his escape.
