Maraya Art Centre, Sharjah, the non-profit body that aims to support artists in the region, has announced its March exhibition programme.
Dubai resident and currently the holder of the highest number of Guinness World Records in the UAE, Ramkumar Sarangapani, achieves the distinction of breaking the World’s Largest Pop up Greetings Card record on the occasion of 15th Accession Day of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, to commemorate the day.
"Art was a way that I could communicate to everybody and is universal. So, it became my language," she said. Her daily "routine" itself reflects an eclectic mix of the east and the west.
The artist also reveals a photograph from his archival collection that attracts the viewer with a vast landscape of the city of Jerusalem in 1920, inviting him to his homeland, Palestine.
The young participating artists created seven objects in total, ranging from triangle to diamond, using various geometrical designs as stencils, as part of the "Days of Moscow" week in the UAE.
Sheikha Hoor said, "It is with great pleasure that Sharjah Art Foundation and Sharjah Museums Authority are partnering on the first major institutional exhibition of this important Arab Modernist."
