Fresh protests erupted in India Tuesday amid growing public fury over a car crash that critically injured a teenager who accused a lawmaker from the ruling party of rape and harassment.
At least one person was killed and one critically injured while 14 others were rescued from a fire that broke out in a four-storeyed building in Mumbai on Sunday afternoon.
The incident took place in Dakshina Kannada in south western India several months ago, but only came to light in recent weeks after being widely disseminated on social media.
