His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, The Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, received the prestigious gold necklace of the World Organisation of Folk Art, in recognition of His Highness’s efforts in supporting the folklore and heritage around the world, and in appreciation of His Highness’s continuous role in supporting organisations in this field and setting up a number of heritage and cultural centres in various countries.
His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, accompanied by Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Vice President of the International Publishers Association and Founder and President of the Emirates Publishers Association, attended the fourth Regional Conference of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) in the Arab World that commenced in Sharjah on Thursday. The conference is part of the Sharjah World Book Capital 2019 activities.
His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved Dhs1.75 billion for the first phase of the master plan for sewage treatment plants and irrigation networks in Sharjah City, starting from this year until 2024 at Dhs350 million annually. This is part of a comprehensive and integrated project that includes a 20-year plan covering the emirate’s areas with sewage networks.

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, UoS, witnessed the opening of the 15th International Conference of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies “Virtual Currencies under Evaluation” on Tuesday morning at Medical Colleges and Health Sciences complex.
His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the Arab Children Parliament building in Dasman area of Sharjah on Sunday.
His Highness’ directives came during remarks he made via the Direct Line Programme broadcast live on Sharjah Radio. Sheikh Sultan also instructed SPEA to set the number of teaching classes for each teacher to 24 per week, approximately 5 teaching classes per day.
Sheikh Sultan directed the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) to set two standards for private schools in the emirate regarding the maximum number of students per classroom and the number of classes a week for teachers.
