Blockbuster season

 Superheroes, sci-fi adventures and post-apocalyptic dramas are set to dominate cinema screens this summer. This week we take a look at a packed schedule of big-budget releases featuring some of Hollywood’s biggest stars and most recognisable franchises.

One of the most anticipated films is “The Dog Stars,” Ridley Scott’s adaptation of Peter Heller’s bestselling novel. Starring Jacob Elordi, Margaret Qualley and Josh Brolin, the story follows survivors of a devastating flu pandemic as they attempt to rebuild their lives in a transformed world. Blending survival drama with human relationships, the film is expected to be one of the season’s standout releases.

Comic-book fans will also be keeping an eye on “Supergirl.” Milly Alcock takes on the role of Kara Zor-El in DC’s latest superhero adventure, marking the character’s return to the big screen for the first time in decades.
