Feel-good films have a way of doing exactly what their name suggests, lifting your mood without demanding too much in return. This week we take a look at some of the best movies to settle down and watch, especially during the uncertain times we have been experiencing lately.
Most of us have seen “The Devil Wears Prada” but that’s no excuse not to rewatch it. Sometimes it’s those rewatches that bring the most comfort. Starring Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, the film centres around an intern trying to forge a career in the world of journalism while dealing with a very demanding editor. The movie won several awards and grossed over $326 million worldwide. The sequel, “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” is due to be released this year.
“Little Women” was released in 2019 to rave reviews from audiences and critics alike. Director Greta Gerwig’s take on the classic novel from 1868 by Louisa May Alcott features an ensemble cast that includes Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh and Timothée Chalamet. The movie follows four sisters as they navigate love and life in different ways. This is one of the best feel-good films out there; I plan on watching it this weekend and have lost count of how many times I have seen it before.
