Best of the best

As we approach the end of the year it is only appropriate to look back and evaluate the 12 months that have gone by. This week we are taking a look at the world of film, specifically the top ten movies we think are the best of the year.

“One Battle After Another” is a comedy action movie written, produced and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a father who is on a mission to rescue his daughter played by rising star Chase Infiniti. Without spoiling too much of the plot, the film features some other big names including Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall and Teyana Taylor. Impressively the movie has been nominated for nine Golden Globe awards.

“The Roses” is a modern reimagining of the classic movie “The War of the Roses” which came out back in 1989 starring Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. The new film stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman as an ultra successful couple who are going through a bitter divorce. The film focues on the theme of love and how it becomes disfunctional when a couple compete against each other to win.
