Oscar-winning director, writer and actor Quentin Tarantino is one of the biggest names in Hollywood with his films grossing more than $1.9 billion worldwide. This week we are taking a look at some of the most interesting characters from some of his best films.
Back in 2003 the action thriller “Kill Bill: Vol. 1” was released to rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. Featuring an ensemble cast, the film was not only directed by Tarantino but written by him too. A character from this film that really stood out was O-Ren Ishii played by actress Lucy Liu. The character survives a traumatic childhood and transforms into a deadly assassin. Her calmness along with her ruthlessness is what makes her really stand out and showcases exactly how Tarantino creates complex characters.
Leonardo DiCaprio has acted in two Tarantino movies, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and “Django Unchained.” In the 2019 western comedy “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” DiCaprio plays Rick Dalton, a classic Tarantino character who rises in the face of his issues. Dalton is a fading cowboy actor in 1960s Hollywood who deals with insecurities with a funny and emotional attitude. The character is complex and real making him very lovable.
