As far as most of us are concerned, an original book beats any movie adaptation out there. However, this is not always the case. This week we are taking a look at some great movies which are better than the books they are based on.
One of the most popular movies from the Noughties is “Mean Girls” starring Lindsay Lohan. Surprisingly, the film is actually based on a self-help book by author Rosalind Wiseman titled “Queen Bees & Wannabes.” It was Tina Fey who decided to adapt the book into a script. The film did really well and surpased the popularity of the book by far.
“Jurassic Park” came out in 1993 and is based on a book which came out three years prior by sci-fi writer Michael Crichton. Crichton was well-known at the time and his books did well. But the “Jurassic Park” movie turned his story into a global sensation. Director Steven Spielberg brought the dinosaurs to the big screen in a franchise that is still going strong with the lastest release being “Jurassic World Rebirth” starring Scarlett Johansson.
In other news this week, turn to our Travel pages where we have some summer holiday inspiration. If Italy is on your mind consider the northern city of Rimini. It is described as the Tuscany alternative with a beautiful coastline and wonderful food.
