Musicians and actors often cross over into each other’s fields of talent. This week we are taking a look at a group of singers who have ventured away from their microphones and positioned themselves in front of the camera with varying degrees of success.

Lady Gaga is one of the most successful and talented singers this world has ever heard. It is not a surprise then to see how she transitioned so smoothly into the acting world. In 2018 Lady Gaga starred in the musical drama “A Star is Born” opposite Bradley Cooper. Gaga ended up being nominated for a Best Actress Oscar and winning one for Best Original Song. She also gave a stellar performance in 2021 in “House of Gucci.”

Ed Sheeran, another very talented singer, was not as successful with his dabble in acting as Lady Gaga was. Sheeran had a cameo in Danny Boyle’s musical comedy “Yesterday” where he played himself. According to critics, it was terrible. He was described as “emotionless” and “oddly robotic,” which is strange as he is such a gifted singer who can convey strong emotions with his music and singing.
