The news about severe thunderstorms in which nine people were killed in Australia is sad and shocking (“Wild weather leaves at least 10 dead in Australian states of Queensland, Victoria,” Dec.27, Gulf Today website).

According to the report, nine people were killed in Australia after severe thunderstorms battered the country’s east over the Christmas holidays, authorities said on Wednesday, with tens of thousands of properties still without power.

Wild weather lashed the states of Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland on Dec.25 and Dec.26 bringing large hailstones and torrential rain. Strong winds blew off roofs and brought down trees in some of the worst-affected areas. More than 90,000 households are still without power.

The biggest problem the world is facing is climate change, which is slowly gripping the world with its disasters. The world has witnessed unusual rain, severe thunderstorms, scorching heat waves, flooding and wildlife fires, which has resulted in heavy financial losses.

Climate change has become a challenge for the world to cope with and I am sure the world has the ability to fight this, the biggest threat to the existence of the world.

Nothing is impossible in the world. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. The world only needs a firm resolution to fight against the climate and save coming generations from its disasters.
