Naomi Campbell

In the fashion world there are only a few names that can rival Naomi Campbell’s in terms of her supermodel status. This week we take a look at how the 53-year-old English model has carved out one of the most successful modelling careers over the past four decades.

Campbell went through the 90s being one of the most sought-after supermodels around. She comes from that incredible group of women who cemented what it means to be a supermodel and she remains just as popular today in her fifties. From fashion shows to beauty campaigns, Naomi still has the ability to book the highest jobs with the most prestigious brands and names.

Campbell went through a lot of struggles on the way to the top of the fashion game, mainly because of the colour of her skin. She overcame a lot of adversity to carve out a career which rivals the likes of Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington. The challenges she encountered were shown in a recent documentary about these women titled “The Super Models” which tracks their lives and careers. Campbell is an inspiration not only to aspiring models of colour, but to all women who want a successful career.
