Although it’s very important for vehicle owners and drivers to be careful when they are driving their cars in town to avoid any ill-fated incidents or traffic fines, for people who have already been booked for traffic violations there is good news for them: they can pay their fines with a 50 per cent discount till March 31 (“Sharjah announces 50 per cent discount on traffic fines till March 31,” March 2, Gulf Today website).

Sharjah Police have announced a 50 per cent discount on traffic fines for the month of March, adding further to the decision issued by Sharjah Executive Council as regards the discount scheme on traffic fines in the emirate. According to Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Alai Al Naqbi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department, the 50 per cent discount on traffic fines will be applicable to all fines registered before March 31, 2023 except for serious traffic violations. He called on motorists and vehicle owners to take advantage of the facility to settle their old traffic fines.

It’s a great opportunity for people who can pay their outstanding traffic fines before the end of the discount scheme announced by the Sharjah Police and get benefit from it. They will then drive carefully and try their level best to obey the traffic rules and avoid such fines in future.
