It was a wonderful night. Thousands of residents and tourists in Dubai had gathered to watch the fireworks at Burj Khalifa. People from different nationalities sat together, ate together and laughed together on the eve of the New Year. What a wonderful sight it was! It was a sight to behold for everyone. I have never seen such an atmosphere in my life, despite my 16 years of stay in the United Arab Emirates. It was wonderful to be there with family and friends. Lots of people had arrived at the Burj Khalifa site a few hours ago to welcome the New Year with their family and friends. I too had arrived in the evening. The arrangements there were great. Initially I thought how would we sit for such long hours but once we reached there we did not realise how five or six hours passed by.

It looked as if the entire world had assembled in Dubai to welcome the New Year. I had a great time. I saw many visitors had come from India, America, China, Lebanon, Oman all had a great time sitting together. I think people should celebrate New Year the Dubai way. I congratulate His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for creating such a wonderful place where people from many different civilisations stay together in peace.
