We have finally heard the nominations for music’s biggest award ceremony, the 65th Grammy Awards. It does not get much bigger than the Grammy’s for music and this week we are taking a look at the leading contenders as well as those who have missed out.

When it comes to the Grammy Awards, Beyoncé definitely rules everything. This year the singer has notched up a total of nine nominations making her the most nominated artist. Included in those nine nominations are two for Album of the Year, for “Renaissance,” and Record and Song of the Year both for “Break My Soul.” Beyoncé has a total of 88 nominations in her career and if she wins just four out of the nine nominations she will become the biggest winner in Grammy history with 32 wins.

Other artists who have multiple and many nominations include Kendrick Lamar with eight, Adele and Brandi Carlile with seven each and Harry Styles with six. Styles has done the best as a solo artist since leaving One Direction and I can see him winning a few awards.

There are several big artists missing from the list of nominations. Some of those names include Drake and The Weeknd, neither of whom submitted their music to the Recording Academy this year. Taylor Swift just missed the submission date with her album “Midnights” which was released on Oct.21. The cutoff date for the awards was Sept.30. The 65th Grammy Awards will take place on Feb.5 in Los Angeles.
