The new reboot of “Gossip Girl” has just been released. Being a huge fan of the original series, I was curious to see how the new one would compare. I have watched the first episode, it was interesting. I think you really need to forget about the original and come at it with fresh eyes, because it is actually really different.
I am really looking forward to the movie “Respect” which is due out in August. The film stars Jennifer Hudson as the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin. Apparently Franklin herself choose Hudson for the role. I wonder if this could result in a second Oscar win for Hudson? Her first was for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Dreamgirls” back in 2007.
In the way of sports, we have the Tokyo Olympics to look forward to. After being delayed a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Games will run from July 23 till Aug.8. As a sports fan, I did miss watching the Olympics last summer. Having attended the showjumping Olympic qualifiers and personally knowing the Arab showjumpers who have qualified, it is going to be extra special to watch and I wish them the best of luck.
